MILTON – Desjardins Agent Darryl Demille today presented a cheque for $4,000 to the Community Foundation of Halton North (CFHN). The funds were part of the Desjardins GoodSpark Community Grants program, and will be used to support CFHN’s Mental Wellness Fund. CFHN recognizes a gap in funding for mental health issues for residents in Halton Hills and Milton and has established the Mental Wellness Fund.   CFHN’s current priority is on programs that are making an impact on behaviours of children and youth.

Desjardins Insurance is providing over $271,000 in grants to 77 community organization in Alberta, Ontario and New Brunswick through the GoodSpark Community Grants Program. Each of the grants includes a donation from the local Desjardins Agent. The agents were invited to nominate organizations that are important to both them and their communities. All told, Desjardins Agents donated over $73,000 of the $271,000 total.

“I was honoured to help select and contribute to the grant provided to the Community Foundation of Halton North” said Desjardins Agent Darryl Demille. “The GoodSpark Community Grants aim to “spark good” by giving a helping hand to those who need it most. CFHN plays a vital role in our community and Desjardins is proud to help support their good work”.

“The Community Foundation of Halton North’s vision is to grant back into the communities which make up North Halton. I am thrilled that the Foundation receives such generous support from community partners such as Mr. Demille and Desjardins Insurance,” stated Sue Lawrenson, CFHN Executive Director.

This is the second year that Desjardins Insurance and the exclusive Desjardins Agent Network have teamed up to support Canadian Communities. In 2018, a total of $190,000 was given to community initiative in the three provides where Desjardins Insurance Agents offices are located.
