Community Foundation of Halton North

Five charities say ‘thank you’ to the Community Foundation of Halton North after receiving grants from the Community Foundation of Halton North through Round #2 of the Emergency Community Support Fund.  Each grant recipient helps serve a vulnerable population in Milton and Halton Hills adversely impacted by Covid-19.

The coronavirus pandemic has had a huge impact on the issue of food security, mental wellness, safety, social inclusion and learning.  Grant recipients include:

  • Canadian Caribbean Association of Halton
  • Community Living North Halton
  • Food For Life
  • House of David
  • The Willow Foundation

Initially launched in the spring of 2020 and a second round launched in the fall, the Government of Canada’s Emergency Community Support Fund (ECSF) aimed to provide additional and much-needed assistance to charities and non-profit organizations serving vulnerable populations. The Government of Canada flowed funds through national networks, including Community Foundations of Canada, United Way Centraide Canada and the Canadian Red Cross. We are so proud to have worked with CFC and the Government of Canada to deliver funding in Halton Hills and Milton to ensure that our most vulnerable citizens are safe and healthy. Through the ECSF, the Community Foundation of Halton North was able to grant over $450,000 in 2020 towards local charities and qualified donees supporting vulnerable populations.

The Community Foundation of Halton North is non-profit charitable organization.  CFHN is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of representatives from across the communities that make up Halton North.  CFHN is one of 191 Community Foundations in cities, towns and rural areas across the nation.  Community Foundations will be celebrating 100 years in Canada in 2021.  These locally run, public foundations play a critical role in supporting community causes.
